Dentistry
Looking after your horse's teeth is a vital part of their care. In a young healthy animalaA thorough oral examination should be performed at least once a year so that any potential problems can be identified early. Aged horses and ponies should be assessed twice a year as they are more likely to be developing problems.
At Fakenham Farm and Equine we recommend using a small dose of sedation for all dental examinations and as such the cost of sedation is included in the cost of the dental. With the horse sedated, the vet can do a more thorough examination as well as making it a safer procedure for everyone, the horse, the handler and the vet.
